22 cards Spirit The whole year

Major Arcana

The twenty-two cards that describe a life rather than a week — initiations, reckonings and the turning points you remember years later.

What it governs

The Major Arcana is the spine of the deck. Where the four suits describe daily weather — a conversation, a payment, a mood — the majors describe climate: the arc you are inside whether or not you noticed it starting.

Read in order, the twenty-two cards trace one journey from The Fool stepping off the cliff to The World closing the circle. In a spread, a major says the question is bigger than the querent framed it.

Three acts of the journey

A traditional way to hold twenty-two cards in your head.

Cards 0–VII
The world of the self: identity, will, intuition and the first structures you build around them.
Cards VIII–XIV
The world of others: patience, solitude, justice and the slow rebalancing that follows a choice.
Cards XV–XXI
The world of forces bigger than you: collapse, hope, reckoning and completion.

When Major Arcana dominates

Four or more majors in a ten-card spread almost always means the situation is not really about the thing you asked. The question underneath is structural — who you are becoming rather than what you should do on Thursday.

The timing is longer than you hoped
Small tactics will not move the outcome
The lesson repeats until it is learned
